Ghost Pepper Hot Drops
Ghost Pepper Hot Drops is a ghost pepper hot sauce in a 1 oz glass dropper. It's built for one job: adding real heat to a drink, or a plate, one drop at a time, so you never have to guess with a bottle again.
Stu's doesn't bring the heat. You do. Our Bloody Mary seasoning is balanced on purpose, so the person who likes it mild and the person who wants to sweat can drink from the same bottle. Hot Drops is how the second person gets there.
How Hot Is This Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce?
Hotter than the hot sauce on most restaurant tables, and nowhere near the dare-you sauces. It's a cayenne base with ghost pepper powder for the kick, so you get a clean, building burn instead of a wall of pain. Ghost peppers are one of the hottest peppers grown, which is why a little goes a long way. If you want the numbers, here's our guide to ghost pepper Scoville units and how a ghost pepper compares to a Carolina Reaper.
- 1 to 2 drops: a little warmth. Most people won't call it spicy.
- 3 to 4 drops: a warm, clean burn most of the table will enjoy.
- 5 to 7 drops: properly hot.
- 8 or more: for the pepper people.
Start low. You can always add a drop. You can't take one out.
How to Use It in a Bloody Mary
- Fill a tall glass with ice.
- Add 1 oz of Stu's Bloody Mary seasoning and 4 to 5 oz of tomato juice, V8, or Clamato.
- Add vodka if you're using it.
- Add 3 or 4 drops of Hot Drops and stir.
- Taste, then add a drop at a time until it's where you want it.
Setting up a Bloody Mary bar? Put the dropper out next to the vodka and let everyone set their own heat. That's the whole idea behind the Stu's Bloody Mary Kit, which ships with a bottle of Hot Drops inside. More on building heat the right way in our spicy Bloody Mary recipe.
Beyond the Bloody Mary
- Micheladas and Caesars: a few drops in a michelada or a Bloody Caesar.
- Spicy margaritas: two or three drops in the shaker.
