The Bloody Carrot - Bloody Mary with Carrot Juice Recipe

Bloody Carrot (Bloody Mary with Carrot Juice): A Surprisingly Sweet Twist on the Classic Bloody Mary

The Bloody Mary has already seen more glow-ups than a reality show contestant. Green Bloody Marys. Micheladas. Bloody Caesars. Frozen Bloodys. Spicy ones. Sweet ones. Stripped-down minimalist ones with a single lime wedge and full-blown edible, over-the-top bouquets where the drink is just an afterthought. We've tried them all, and we love them all.

But every now and then, you stumble onto something unexpected. Something that makes you pause and go, "Wait. Is this even a Bloody Mary?"

Enter: The Bloody Mary with Carrot Juice, aka The Bloody Carrot.

Yes, you read that right. A Bloody Mary with carrot juice. Tomato juice is out. Carrot juice is in. And it's not just a clever way to sneak in more veggies. It's a legitimately delicious, totally brunch-worthy reinvention of the classic Bloody Mary.

A Bloody Mary with Carrot Juice? Why Carrot Juice?

Carrots might not be the first thing you think of when it comes to cocktails. But that's precisely what makes this version so fun. Carrot juice is naturally sweet, earthy, and vibrant in color. It brings an entirely new flavor profile to the Bloody Mary format. Something a little brighter, a little smoother, and a little less acidic than your typical tomato base.

And when you blend it with Stu's This Is Bloody Mary Concentrate, which brings the savory, the spice, and that signature pickle-brine bite? You end up with something that's not just drinkable. It's downright craveable.

Whether you're a Bloody Mary purist or a wild brunch renegade, you owe it to your taste buds to try a Bloody Mary with carrot juice.

The Bloody Carrot Recipe

We kept this Bloody Mary with carrot juice recipe stupidly simple. Because that's how we roll. You don't need a shaker. You don't need to infuse your vodka with saffron and unicorn tears. All you need is a few quality ingredients, Stu's Concentrate, and a tall glass.

Ingredients

6 oz carrot juice We used Bolthouse Farms because it's easy to find, smooth in texture, and not overly sweet. But any cold-pressed or fresh carrot juice will do the trick. Bonus points if it's local and organic, but we're not judging.

1 to 2 oz Stu's This Is Bloody Mary Concentrate This is where the magic happens. Our concentrate brings the salt, spice, umami, and all the flavor you need without the bulk of a pre-mixed tomato base. It lets the carrot juice shine while still giving you that Bloody Mary backbone you expect.

1 to 2 oz vodka Pick your favorite. We like it clean and smooth. Nothing too peppery or infused for this one, since the carrot and Stu's mix already bring a lot to the table. Need help choosing? Check out our guide to the best vodka for Bloody Marys. Want to make it a mocktail? Skip the booze and sip proudly. It's just as good.

Optional Garnishes

For this version, we kept it super minimal. No skewers stacked with bacon and sliders. No fresh herb forests or onion rings. We wanted to let the drink speak for itself.

That said, a pickled carrot spear is a classic move. Adds a little tang, a little crunch, and a little flair. You could also garnish with a fresh dill sprig, a lemon twist, or a celery leaf if you're trying to impress. But honestly? It's optional.

This drink is elegant on its own. No dress-up required.

How to Make a Bloody Mary with Carrot Juice

Because we used Stu's Bloody Mary Concentrate, there are no special instructions other than to pour and mix. We make it so easy for you, even we can do it.

Pour the carrot juice into a tall glass. Make sure it's chilled. Bonus points for fancy ice cubes or one giant cube if you're into that sort of thing.

Add Stu's Bloody Mary Concentrate. Start with 1 oz, then taste. If you want more kick, go for the full 2 oz.

Add vodka (or don't). Again, 1 to 2 oz, depending on how strong you want it, or skip entirely for a killer virgin Bloody.

Stir well. No shaking necessary. Just stir and enjoy.

That's it. No blender. No prep. No hassle. Just pour, stir, sip, and revel in your brilliance.

The Flavor Breakdown

So what does it taste like?

It was much better than we anticipated.

It's unexpectedly balanced. The carrot juice brings a touch of natural sweetness and that earthy undertone. The acidity and spice from Stu's concentrate cuts right through it, keeping the drink grounded. And the vodka adds just enough bite to remind you that yes, this is still a cocktail.

The result is smoother and a bit lighter than a traditional Bloody Mary. You don't get that dense, pulpy texture that some tomato-based versions have. Instead, you get something refreshingly clean, with just the right amount of kick.

It works beautifully as a boozy brunch staple, but it's just as good without the alcohol. Serve it in a coupe glass with a lemon twist, and it'll feel like a fancy health tonic from a trendy juice bar. Except it's better, because it's Stu's.

Why It Works (And Why You Should Try It)

It's unexpected. When's the last time someone served you a carrot-based cocktail at brunch? Exactly.

It's good for you-ish. Carrot juice is packed with vitamin A and antioxidants. Look at you, taking care of yourself. Curious about the health angle of Bloody Marys? Carrot juice only helps the case.

It's stupid simple. Three ingredients. One glass. No mess. No drama.

It's customizable. Go spicy. Go mild. Go virgin. Go heavy-handed. It's your Bloody Carrot, do it your way. That's the beauty of working with a cocktail concentrate instead of a pre-mixed jug.

It makes a statement. Whether you're hosting brunch or just treating yourself, this drink stands out. Add it to your Bloody Mary bar and watch people reach for the carrot juice first.

Go Make This Drink

Sometimes, it's the unexpected things that stick. The Bloody Carrot might seem like a curveball, but it lands.

Try it once, and you'll wonder why it's not on more brunch menus. It's refreshing. It's vibrant. It's delicious. And thanks to Stu's, it's foolproof.

So go and make one. Share it on social. Tag us and show us how you Bloody Carrot.

Because real brunch legends don't follow the rules. They rewrite them with carrots.
